It is apparently clear that the Govt is slashing funds, over the years, to Ramakrishna Mission despite many appeals from the administration. The institute, despite this huge obstacle, is determined to continually sustain the efforts to support its noble commitments towards the unprivileged. It's needless to say that it needs to generate more donations to stay alive on the course. The time has come when we, the alumni, stand up and join hands to give as little we can, to our beloved institute that has given us so much, expecting nothing in return. The Joydeep-Soumen memorial fund was set up in 2003 with a simple objective of 'giving something back to the society' through RKM, and today it has inspired other batches like 94 etc to come forward and extend their support too. So, if there's anything that urges you to do the same, then think no-more. it takes just a little effort to show your support - scribble on a cheque, write a few words in a paper (a letter) and mail them to narendrapur. The details pertaining to cheque formats and address etc, can be found in this page. To make online donation, click here. For anything else, feel free to contact us.

Joydeep-Soumen Memorial Fund: Looking behind those golden years of our life, Ramakrishna Mission Naredrapur holds a certain part of our mental cupboard. Wherever we are now, across the world, scattered away in different cities, different places; we know for sure, the root goes back to that lush green place spread across hundreds of acres of land, a mini world of its own....Narendrapur. it has given us so much that probably none of us could measure of; and still continues its multiple streams of self-less efforts that only a few does in the whole world. and today we are proud to say that we too were a part of this noble institution.

Though it is impossible to repay our dear old institute, we decided to do our level best to do something for the betterment of this noble institution and see to it that the RKM Narendrapur continues its self-less efforts as it always did. So, the class of 93 joined hands to raise funds that will help RKM for their financial matters.

Besides, we also proposed to sponsor a few students of RKM Vidyalaya, who are from economically under privileged section. The fund, in the memory of our beloved friends Joydeep Bose and Soumen Mukherjee, whom we lost in a couple of tragic incidents, will support financially dependent student for a whole academic year. The scholarship will be awarded only to the needful (like an orphan student for example), not for the students from well off background. The school management will be held responsible for using the fund in appropriate places and will periodically review the performance of the student for further continuation of the scholarship to him.
The money will be handed over to the school management in the beginning of each new academic year. As of for now, we need to continue the fund for atleast six years so that we can support a whole educational life-cycle of a student (that is from class V to X). Lastly, we would like to thank everybody who has expressed their willingness to support the cause and to those too, whom we expect to be with us in the future...wish us ALL the best for the future. God bless and may the souls of our beloved soumen and joydeep rest in peace.
